October is a favorite month for me. The fall colors are in full glory and the critters are fat and happy as they prepare for winter. The cooling days are often perfect for a long hike or paddle. This bell started as a commission and depicts a red fox in its full winter coat. The stand has elements of the beautiful white oak tree which is a source of food for all kinds of animals in the fall and winter. It reminds me of the wisdom of preparing for lean times.
